Community Groups

Welcome to Community!

Gathering outside of the four walls of  a church building is an essential piece of being a community who loves each other well and is living on mission.  We believe in the importance of gathering collectively in the gym on Sunday mornings and also within homes throughout the week. Our community groups are designed to create space for people to gather, break bread, fellowship, and share life together.  We desire for every heart and every home to become an altar unto Him! If I want to host, what is my responsibility?

If you are interested in hosting a group, our heart is that it would be light and easy for you and your family. Hosting a community group looks like welcoming people into your home and loving them well, while fostering relationship and connection among the group. Our hope is that this is simple and organic. You will also help coordinate the meal, but you are not responsible for providing the entirety of the meal.

When do groups meet?

This fall, we are trying something different than we have in the past. Each group host will choose the night of the week that works best for them, and the group sign up will display this information.  This way, you can choose the night of the week and location that works best for you and your family.  We are recommending that groups gather every other week, but the frequency will be determined by the group.

What about my kids?

Kids are welcome in community groups! We encourage hosts and group participants to find creative ways to engage children throughout the night.

Is this the same as small groups?

There are many similarities between small groups and community groups. Instead of going through a Bible study or book study curriculum, the idea for community groups is to be a space for fellowship and sharing meals together. Our heart is that these groups become a place where organic relationship happens and life is shared in community.

If I attend a community group, should I also attend on Sundays?

Community groups add an opportunity to build relationship and engage in deeper community in addition to Sunday gatherings. We believe that our corporate gathering is very important, and we encourage everyone to attend Sunday mornings, even while in a group.
