Fasting is a spiritual rhythm that draws us closer to God by intentionally setting aside physical needs to seek His presence, His will, and His voice. It’s a practice of humility that deepens our dependence on God’s strength rather than our own and opens our hearts to His will. On the first Monday through Wednesday of each month, we come together in this rhythm of fasting. Check out our fasting guide for more information along with our monthly fasting focus below!

For the month of December, our three-day fast will be centered on fasting and praying together for the peace and nearness of God during the holiday season.

As a church family, we are praying that God’s presence would rest on our homes and gatherings. We’re asking Him to draw lost loved ones to Himself, to help each of us experience the Prince of Peace in a deeper way, and to comfort those who are grieving lost loved ones during this time of year.

Let’s begin this season seeking God with open hearts and trusting Him to move in powerful and personal ways.

This November will be our second annual week-long corporate fast! The fast will begin Sunday, November 2nd and end in the evening on November 6th. Throughout the week we will have various ways to engage in corporate prayer and in service to our community. See below for detailed information on dates and times. If you are participating in the fast, be sure to sign up (button above) to receive encouragements and reminders via text, as well as Zoom links for the prayer calls. Tuesday evening from 7pm-Midnight we will pray corporately and each hour will have a different prayer focus. You are welcome to come and go at any point in the evening as you are available!

For the Wednesday night "Serve and Share" project we will meet at the KC Office at 5:30pm to assemble food bags before heading out to parks in downtown Fort Wayne. We want to bless, pray for, and encourage those we come in contact with the good news of the Gospel! No rsvp is required to be a part of this, just come to the office at 5:30!

For the month of October, our three-day fast will be centered on KC’s ongoing search for a building. While we are actively looking and trusting the Lord for a place to call home, we also rest in His sovereignty to provide the right building at the right time.

This month we invite you to pray specifically for:

Provision — for a building/property and the financial resources needed
Providence — for God to accomplish what only He can do
Wisdom — for Kent and the KC elder team as they lead through this process

This month, we’re focusing our fasting and prayer on the nations and unreached people groups, but with a few specific and intentional prayer focuses.

1. Pray for refugees and immigrants in our city to meet Jesus and find peace, especially those from Mexico, Venezuela, Afghanistan, and Myanmar.

2. Pray for Kate Dotterer’s work with children in Guatemala City, along with other missionaries.

3. Pray for Christians around the world who are persecuted for their faith. Ask God to give them strength, protection, and courage.

4. Pray for God to bring awakening among unreached people groups.

We know that God cares about every nation and it's an honor to join in with Jesus, the chief intercessor of heaven as we pray for God to move mightily among His people! 

This month, we’re focusing our fasting and prayer on the students, parents, and educators in our community as a new school year begins  (across public, private, and homeschool settings).

Together, let’s intercede for:

1. The Gospel to Go Forth:  That God would open doors for His Word to be shared and for divine appointments to draw students and staff closer to Jesus.

2. Protection:  Covering students, teachers, and families with the Lord’s safety and peace in every environment.

3. Godly Wisdom: That students, parents, and educators would walk in discernment and be led by the Spirit in every decision.

Let’s join in faith, believing that God will move mightily in our schools this year!

This month, our fasting focus is to pray and intercede for our neighbors and neighborhoods, asking the Lord to give us His heart for the lost. We encourage you to prayer walk your neighborhood and use the Holy Here app to document your walks! Prayer walking doesn’t mean you have to knock on doors or ask people if you can pray with them—though if you feel led to do that, go for it! Instead, prayer walking is simply walking through your community while talking with the Lord, inviting His presence and praying for blessing over every home, street, and heart. The concept of prayer walking is rooted in Joshua 1:3: “I am giving you every square inch of the land you set your foot on.” For further guidance, check out this helpful prayer walking resource here.

As we fast and pray the first Monday through Wednesday of June, our focus will be seeking the Lord for healing on behalf of Barnabas McLaughlin. Barnabas was born via emergency c-section on May 17th and has been in the NICU since. The McLaughlin family needs strength, encouragement, and wisdom from heaven as they navigate the journey ahead. 

As we fast and pray the first Monday through Wednesday of May, our focus will be seeking God's will for a building for Kingdom Collective. Over the past six months, we have looked at several locations including rentals, buildings for sale, and available land. To this point, the locations we have looked at have not been the right fit.

Since KC planted in 2020, we have felt the Lord leading us to be in a location that allows for marketplace ministry. Meaning, we see our future building being in proximity with other buildings and providing the opportunity to interact with various people each day.

We continue to be grateful for our partnership with the YMCA and do not intend to rush the process to simply get to another location. We believe in the importance of seeking God's heart, standing in faith, and trusting in His timing and favor.
