The Cearbaugh Family

About the Cearbaugh Family

On Sunday, April 12, we announced that after prayer and discernment, the elder team has nominated Jeremy Cearbaugh to join the Kingdom Collective elder board. According to the KC bylaws, elders must be affirmed by a two-thirds majority vote of “yes” for Jeremy to be officially installed as an elder. A vote of affirmation is based on the overall authority and responsibility that the elder team carries, we believe it is important that the church affirms someone stepping into this position

The vote of affirmation will take place on "date", and you will receive an email with a link to vote. Between now and then, we ask that you prayerfully consider this nomination. We also welcome your discernment, questions, or feedback. If you would like to share anything with the elder team, please email elders@kingdomcofw.com before “date.”

Please read this brief letter written by Jeremy to learn more about the Cearbaugh family and their journey at Kingdom Collective!

My Family & Roots
My name is Jeremy, and my two favorite things in life are being a husband to Kat and a father to our four kids. Kat and I are Fort Wayne natives through and through—we actually met at school in first grade, started dating at 13, graduated from Snider together, and were married by 20! We’ve been married for 18 years now and have been blessed with four children: Jesse (9), Lucas (7), Adira (6), and Oliver (3).

Our Journey of Faith
Our walk with the Lord has been a series of saying  “yes” to God. At 22, we felt called to move to Harrisburg, PA to attend Life Center Church and were discipled and truly encountered the Holy Spirit. A few years later, we sold everything we owned to join a mission trip called "The World Race," serving as missionaries in 11 countries over 11 months. It "wrecked us for the ordinary" and we then moved to Georgia to join the staff of the mission organization, Adventures in Missions. We lived in Georgia for 10 years working for the mission trips and starting our family. A portion of that time was spent as house mentors for a discipleship school where we lived alongside 6–8 students, practicing "life on life" discipleship over shared meals and daily rhythms. Through that ministry and our personal season of waiting for children, God gave us a heart for intentional community that continues to define how we view the Gospel today.

Back in Fort Wayne
In 2022, we moved back home to be near family and transition into real estate investing. We began attending Kingdom Collective January 2023. Shortly after returning to the area we did what most people do and visited a lot of churches in Fort Wayne. We wandered into the Sunday morning service at the YMCA with our newborn and three young children and immediately felt our spirits stirred by what God was doing in this body. We love how active this church is and how genuinely the staff loves Jesus, and we knew we wanted to be a part of it.

Today, I manage the day-to-day operations of a rental portfolio and while not working in traditional ministry, I am learning to use my skills, giftings and faith in a practical way.

Serving as an Elder
To be honest, I was taken aback by the invitation to join the elder team. I know I’m bald, but I wasn’t sure if I was "old" enough yet! While this wasn't on my radar, I’ve become incredibly excited to serve. My heart is to support Kent and Josh in practical ways, tap into the wisdom of this team with Jon and Don , and listen closely to where God is leading our community.

Our hands and hearts are open, and we are honored to serve alongside you all.
