Beliefs

Statement of Beliefs

The following statements are our core doctrinal convictions.

The Trinity
We believe that there is one God and that He is eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God the Father is the creator and sustainer of all things. He created man in His own image for fellowship, and He called man back to Himself through Christ after the fall. God the Son is Jesus Christ who was together with the Father and the Holy Spirit from the beginning. Jesus left heaven and became incarnate by the Holy Spirit through the virgin Mary into the earth to redeem mankind from sin. God the Holy Spirit is active in the believer and gives gifts for the revelation of Jesus Christ and the edification of the body of Christ. We believe in the person, the gifts, and the move of the Holy Spirit.

Scripture
We believe that the Bible is the infallible truth of God. Its authority is ultimate, final, and eternal. It cannot be added to, subtracted from, or superseded. The Bible is the source of all doctrine, instruction, correction, and reproof. It contains all that is needed for guidance in godliness and practical Christian conduct.

Salvation
We believe that sin has affected and corrupted mankind, and as a result, we are in need of salvation. Salvation is a free gift of God obtained by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

Spiritual Formation
We believe that every person should grow in godliness as they live out a life of faith. Living a life of faith requires that we abide in Jesus Christ, for apart from Him we can do nothing. We believe that the fruit of formation is looking like Jesus and living as He did.

The Church
We believe that the church consists of all those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and have received Him as Savior. We believe that the church is one body, made up of many parts.

Baptism
We believe that water baptism is an outward sign of God’s inner work in an individual’s life and is a testimony to all that a person now belongs to Jesus Christ.

Marriage
God created male and female; therefore, we believe marriage is a covenant commitment between one man and one woman, established by God as the foundation of family, representative of His sacrificial love for His bride, the church.

Second Coming
We believe in the bodily second coming of Jesus Christ and that our eternal destination of either heaven or hell is determined by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ.
